What size red heat bulb for a 20 gallon hermit crab tank w/ glass lid?

I have a 10 gallon hermit crab tank w/wire lid and a 60w bulb & under the tank heater that keeps the tank at the right temp. and humidity,I am now moving up to a 20 gallon w/glass lid what size blub do I need to heat this tank?
I have gone with a wire lid,I have had pp hermit crabs for about 2 1/2yrs,some of my crabs have molted 3 times already, you have to have heat in high 70’s low 80’s and humidity at between 70-80%.I’m moving the from a 10gal to a 20 gal. tank.

What kind of hermit crab do you have? Most don’t need a heat source (lamp or under-tank heater) at all. Also, I’m worried about this glass lid – They do need humidity (around 70%, but if the humidity is too high, they can suffocate. If you have very limited fresh air (thanks to the glass lid) and that much heat, it sounds to me like you should be careful not to steam your crab! Seriously though, you may want to invest in a hygrometer. They’re only a few dollars, and it’ll tell you what the humidity is in the tank, and you can go from there. I wouldn’t worry too much about the heat bulb though – Most hermit crabs don’t even need them.
